Participants will check-in at event registration tent located in the parking lot of the Explore Park Visitor Center. Participants will then choose from two different routes, a 0.3 mile walk or a 1 mile hike, and set off on their own personal hike to the main event area.
Easy Trail – Pink Line – 0.3 miles
This route takes participants down the Old Salem Turnpike (red blaze) paved path leaving from parking lot A and following it straight to parking lot D.
Intermediate Trail – Blue Line – 1.06 miles
This route takes participants along the Old Salem Turnpike (red blaze) leaving from the trail head behind the Arthur Taubman Center, following this loop route for one mile, then transferring onto the River Walk Link (blue blaze) for .1 mile, and ending at parking lot D.
There will be golf carts to offer transportation to the Main Event area as well as the Houtz Barn area for the VIP Farm-to-Table Dinner for anyone in need of assistance. Golf Carts will be stationed at the check-in tents.
Optional Group Hike Excursions:
There will be two optional group hike excursions leaving from the main event area during this year’s Roanoke Hike for Hospice. After participants complete their initial hike down into the main event, if they feel like going on another hike they will be able to join one of these guided hikes!

Intermediate Group Hike Excursion
Led by Society of American Foresters
Slightly over 1 mile
Departs main event area at 2:30pm
There will be plenty of time for participants to enjoy food and festivities at the main event area before or after either of these optional group excursion hikes.
